Cash for Clunker-->Mass Production-->Possible Lemons? Not Supermarket Lemons you Idiot

Government tired to implement strategy of trading in old non-gas effiicent cars for new hybirds and economically benefical automobiles. The hype spread amongest the various communities and everyone darted over to the nearest supporting dealership with there gas guzzlers and traded it in for new cars! great deal right? of course!(?) You got a check cut for $4500 what else can you ask for!

This system was flooded by consumers to the point where the dealers were complaining they are selling SO many cars and it's great but were not getting the clunker checks from the government! After many tears from the dealers the government finally cut the checks and delivered payments.

Consumer awareness has to be hightened when the government issues these types of economically stimulating packages. As we know, the automobile industry has taken a huge hit with the recession fully fledged. Industry leaders are pulling strings and manufacturing as much "quality" made products at a cheap selling cost. Normal? No? The overhead will increase cause the productivity levels of the production process generate a less then average product. In this case being an automobile. People use an automobile on a daily basis and financing isn't the easiest of tasks. So you say to the automobile manufacturers, quality products or a bunch of lemons?

I say a bunch of lemons. Customer satification isn't looked after when the industry becomes desparate. They produce in quantity over quality. Be informed about LEMON LAWS and have a LEMON ATTORNEY READY!

Lemon laws are American state laws that provide a remedy for purchasers of cars that repeatedly fail to meet standards of quality and performance. These cars are called lemons. The federal lemon law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) protects citizens of all states. State lemon laws vary by state and may not necessarily cover used or leased cars. The rights afforded to consumers by lemon laws may exceed the warranties expressed in purchase contracts. Lemon law is the common nickname for these laws, but each state has different names for the laws and acts.

  1. Peter, you're missing the whole point of this law, which is to help protect the environment from harmful gases and pollutants. Carbon monoxide, for example, is a lethal gas which ultimately contributes to the global warming effect, due to its carbon-based structure, and other deleterious events. The benefits of this law outweigh the losses, so to say that it is a lemon law is unrightfully superficial.
